Well, my name is Hannah and I have recently graduated from Swansea uni after spending three years doing statistics. Why stats? Still not entirely sure about the answer for that! Why Swansea? Two reasons. One – the beach. Having lived in London all my life it was nice to move somewhere with a 2 minute walk to the sea. Two – the day I visited was a beautifully hot, sunny day I March and stupidly I forgot just how much it rains there!
Having taken a year out to work before going to uni, I knew that the last thing I want to do now is to go and get another job! Instead, I have decided to take the plunge and go off to visit all the places that I have previously only ever dreamed about. Yes its is slightly scary going on my own, but rather that than not go at all!
So, what are my plans? Well, my itinerary is as follows:
Japan – Hong Kong – Thailand – Malaysia – Singapore – Australia – New Zealand – USA
In total, I shall be gone for about 7 months. I have the option of changing the dates of my flights and therefore extending the trip but as two of my friends are getting married a fortnight after I’m due to return, I don’t really have very much flexibility.
Whilst away, I hope to be able to try out new things particularly anything that comes under the dangerous sports category in my travel insurance eg bungee jumping, ski diving, hot air ballooning etc.
So what else can I tell you about me. Well I’m 22 and as you probably got from my introduction, I am a Palace fan. Throw all the insults and jokes at me that you want, I’ve heard them all before anyway!
What am I hoping to get out of this trip? Theres not one thing in particular, though it would be nice to finally get as far away from Croydon as possible. Apologies to anyone living there who likes the place, personally I cant stand it anymore! Mainly though, I think I just want to be able to watch travel programs and annoy everyone by saying “been there” or start conversations with “when I went to …”!!! Either way, I am hoping this will be a trip to remember.
