Bangkok, Ao Nang

Spent the day wandering around seeing the Democracy Monument, Wat Ratchanatdaram and then went up the Golden Mount, where you could see views of most of Bangkok. Back at the hotel, I had to change rooms out of my one with a king size bed and into a twin room as it was the start of my tour. Luckily, I was sharing with Hazel (Hazydaisy) who I had met before. We all had dinner together, then had a drink before heading out to Pat Phong. It was an experience!

Next day, a group of us headed to Wat Pho to get a Thai massage. Very relaxing though a few things did crack and pop. Cheap to, the equivalent of about 2.50. In the evening we got the overnight train to Surat Thani.

Train arrived early in the morning in Surat Thani where we had breakfast, then transfered to minibus to take us to Ao Nang in the Krabi province. Very pretty place, nice beach, warm sea and limestone karsts as a backdrop. Started raining a little bit which was a shame but cleared up pretty quickly. All went out for dinner again, then headed to a sports bar for the football. Managed to get the game on the big screen changed from Fulham Chelsea to Liverpool Palace so I didnt have to watch a small tv.

Got some tours booked for the next couple of days. Going island hopping tomorrow and then elephant trekking on tuesday. Have to be careful not to burn though, the sun here is very intense. Can go nicelt brown after 2 hours in the sun with factor 25 on!
