Blue Mountains, Warrumbungles, Bingara, Byron Bay

My last full day in Sydney, I booked onto a one day tour of the Blue Mountains. First stop was the Olympic Complex - the main stadium also being the one where England beat Australia in the rugby. First place in the Mountains was Wentworth Falls where we did a short walk. Then we headed for the small town of Katoomba. Here, we saw the Three Sisters, then walked for one and a half hours down across the valley to the other side where we took the Scenic Railway back up the mountain. This is the worlds steepest railway at an angle of 52 degrees. Went to see some Kangaroos before going back to Sydney.

Next day was the start of my Oz experience trip. Spent a lot of time on the bus the first day with the first overnight stop being at Warrumbungles farm in Coonabarabran. Here we got a roast dinner - the first one since leaving the UK. We also got an astronomy talk as this is the best place in Australia for it.

Next day, we went up to the astronomy centre and had a lok around and saw the main telescope they use. Drove to Bingara where we are staying in a pub. The girls had a 40 bed dorm although we didnt fill it. Spent the afternoon sorting out trips for Fraser Island and the Whitsundays - the two main things we wanted to do along the coast.

In the morning, we spent two and a half hours horse riding before leaving for Byron Bay. Another long day on the bus before reaching here. Got two nights here as a place to relax. Went out in the evening as everyone on the bus is spending different lengths of time here, so we are all splitting up.
