Here we go!
Why hello! My name is Meghan 🙂 I'm a 17-year-old college student from Wellington, New Zealand, and it has finally dawned on me that it is time to decide what to do with my life. When a lot of my friends are planning to head to Universities around New Zealand to study Health Science, Physics, Art, Architecture, History and so on, so forth, all I want to do is travel the world. I have spent the last 6 months fretting over what to study at Uni, where I will stay, how much it will cost, whether I can get a job or not when I complete my course, and to be honest, nothing has jumped out at me. These days, Uni is just “something people do” when they leave College. Half the people actually going to University are just doing it because they couldn't think of anything else or it's what their parents wanted. In my opinion, spending thousands of dollars on a course I won't really enjoy or take much interest in seems like a waste to me. So, here I am! It's scary to think that in a years time I'll be in a foreign country, surrounded by things I've only dreamed about. With less then half a year to go before I leave, it's time to start planning! I bought a book today called “The Girlo Travel Survival Kit” by Anthea Paul. It's a really cool book that will help me prepare for the things I'll experience and the way it'll differ from the life I have grown so familiar to in little old New Zealand. The book speaks about being inspired by your destination, and even though I don't know that much about Italy, for some reason I have always wanted to go there. It sounds like a beautiful place with an incredible history. If anyone out there has traveled to Italy and wants to give me some pointers or advice on what to expect then please let me know! (thats if anyone actually ever reads this :P) So for now, I'm gonna raid the library for travel books, research everything there is to research and write a kick ass CV so I can land myself a job as soon as possible and get this dream under way 😀 Meghan xx
