What an amzing country. I arrived here on Friday evening after a 12 hour flight, so needless to say I was pretty tired & after I’d made my bed, showered & stuff I just headed straight to bed.

Got up at 8.45 & headed to Bugis MRT station to catch the train to Harbour Front. What an efficient service that is, & so busy. When I got to the staion I had a quick look round the shops then headed to the cable car tower, where I took the cable car to Sentosa, if your ever in Singapore that is a must do activity, the view is amazing. When I arrived in Sentosa I went to the “Images of Singapore”, its like a museum going from the 1800’s – present day Singapore, really quite interesting. I took a walk down to the ferry terminal which is a wonderful white building with an orange roof, with a prominent sclock tower on the roof. I took the bus back up to the cable car station & went on the “Carlsberg tower” which is the tallest freestanding tower in S.E Asia, when you get to the top it revolves so you can see right into the city & also out to see, really good views. Took the cable car back into the city & took the MRT to Little India & took a look around, some truely amazing sights & smells, but there was one dominent smell which I couldn’t stand (I don’t know what it was) so I walked back down to the hostel (The Inn Crowd) & booked myself onto a trip to the Night Safari. Went to the safari with a couple from the hostel, who were from England. We went on a tram ride around some of the park & saw some of the animals then we got off and walked around alot of it which took about an hour maybe more. We saw a Malaysian tiger eating what looked like a cows leg, skin, foot & all. Also saw some lions, & as we were walking away they started to roar, so we ran back to see them, & the male was just sitting on the ground roaring for what looked, like the hell of it. We got back on the tram and went round the rest of the park, too see some more animals. We went to an animal show which was amzing, trained animals, doing little tricks and stuff.

Today (Sunday 11.9.2005)

Woke up at 7 & read my guide book for half an hour then got up & took a cold shower. I packed my bags & checked out of the hostel at 10, but paid $6 to leave my bags here until I leave for my flight which is at 8pm. Took the MRT to Orachard Road & took a look around some of the shops, they have a Topshop and Marks & Spencers, I was rather surprised. I eventually found a Post Office to buy some stamps for the postcards home, all 10 of them. Took the MRT back to the hostel and wrote all the postcards & phoned home for about half an hour I got a bit confused with the time, I thought it was 8am there but it wasn’t it was 7, however my mum didn’t mind.

I’m off now, to go and read a bit more of my guide book then take the MRT to the airport with this big heavy rucksack of mine.
