A couple of people i know don’t like Vegas but we love it! I stayed in the MGM last time but we stayed in the Luxor (shaped like a pyramid) this time as it was quite cheap. We had fun here and did lots of shopping and drinking (not alot of gambling). There is so much to see here (if you are prepared to walk loads) however the main strip is only 4 mile long. The top end (where we were) and more middle areas are nicer and the hotels are amazing. They are mostly all themed and the attention to detail tremendous. As we have visited many countries we recognise landmarks and they have them down to a tee. The Venetian has St Marks’ Square and a canal with real gondolas, the Paris has the Eiffel tower and Arc de Triumph and so on. We are not sure why people think it’s tacky here as these hotels are some of the poshest you will see – (Bellagio with it’s amazing water display, Ceasers Palace-wow) We have payed a fortune to stay in hotels in the past and some of these here are hard to beat. Freemont St (the old strip which has a roof which has a light display) however is tacky and well dodgy at night so perhaps this is the area they mean!
We saw the famous Blue Man show which was fun and the Ricky Hatten fight. We didn’t fancy paying £330 to go in so watched it for free on a massive screen wth a beer and loads of Americans and went to his after party at studio 54 instead. It was $100 to get in and a further $100 bribe to get upstairs. Liam and Noel Gallagher and David Beckham was there and Ste gave Ricky a hug to congratulate him on his win. He is so tiny in real life! We made friends with a gay lad in there and had a laugh but got so drunk had to stay in the whole next day as we were sick and couldn’t even keep water down it was horrid-couldn’t drink for about 2 days!
I would definately recommend coming here. it’s crazy. You can go out any time day or night and have some fun (if you’re as energetic as us!)
