The countdown is on…
Sitting at my desk on Friday afternoon, quite frankly lacking motivation of any kind, I decided to figure out how many working days I had left until my trip to Australia and was surprised to find I’ll only be in the office for 70 more days! On the one hand that means I’ve not got long to get things wrapped up, and that is kind of a daunting task, but on the other, it means that my experience of a lifetime is almost within touching distance, and boy am I ready for it!
A couple of months ago, I decided that I wanted out. I’ve worked since I was 13 (granted that was only part time stuff, but it all counts) and went straight from Sixth Form, to University and was lucky enough to land myself a place on a great graduate scheme, and although I’ve travelled for short periods of time, I’ve never really done the gap year thing. So I took the plunge and booked my flights to Australia. And whilst I am a little apprehensive about leaving my job, family and friends behind, I know that this is a once in a lifetime experience, and I’m looking forward to creating memories and to meeting some amazing people.
I hope that you’ll enjoy reading my blog in the run up to my trip, and please feel free to post any comments, tips and advice.
