Gap year skiing in Bulgaria

For those of you looking to go skiing on your gap year in 2012 then look no further than Bulgaria.

According to research by Post Office Travel Money, the Bansko resort in Bulgaria offered the best value for money in comparison to 10 other resorts.

Kranjska Gora in Slovenia offered the next best skiing deals. Both countries came out much cheaper that resorts in North America, France or Switzerland.

Sarah Munro of Post Office Travel Money, said: “This year's report revealed welcome news for cash-conscious skiers.

“Prices are more competitive than before in the bargain hunter's resort of Bansko in Bulgaria and Switzerland is working hard to combat the negative impact of the poor exchange.”

Six days of skiing at the Bansko resort cost £818, by far the cheapest.

For a ski break in Switzerland, the same items cost £1,829 at the resort of Nendaz and £1,879 at American resort Winter Park in Colorada, although this price dropped by 31 per cent from last year.
