The Adventure Travel Show
It’s less than a week until The Adventure Travel Show, a show completely dedicated to adventure and travelling, and it’s going to be a great chance to discuss gap years and get some ideas.
The Adventure Travel Show opens at 10am on Saturday 28th and runs until 6pm on Sunday 29th at the Olympia Exhibition Centre in London.
The show brings together an outstanding line-up of travel experts and celebrities, including adventurers Ben Fogle and Charlie Boorman, broadcaster and explorer Nick Crane, BBC’s Frozen Planet cameraman Doug Allen, and mountaineering legend Doug Scott (who’s famous for being the first Brit to summit Everest in 1975), as well as a whole host of other people.
Along with the various talks there are also photography and travel-writing seminars, with tuition from professionals like photographer Paul Harris and various full-time travel writers including Wanderlust editor Dan Linstead.
It’s a great opportunity to see all of these names under one roof while gaining some backpacking and travelling advice and ideas. You can learn about specific tours, destinations and activities, and there’s a bunch of freebies too.
Plus, the best specialist travel operators will be on hand to offer advice on everything from walking and trekking to exploratory journeys, safaris, overland trips, life-changing volunteering projects and more.
Doors open at 10am till 6pm (5pm on Sunday) and tickets cost £10 on the door or £6 if you quote “GAPYEAR” when booking online or on 0781 230 7159. That’s a saving of 40%!
