Gap year roadshow kicks off to a packed hall in Cambridge
Gapyear.com is back on the road. The first 2012 university city tour got underway in Cambridge on Monday night at a packed hall at Anglia Ruskin University.
The Cambridge roadshow was the first of four gapyear.com roadshows scheduled this week, with further events taking place in Manchester, Oxford and London in the next three days.
Gapyear.com and other gap year industry experts set out the benefits of taking a break, volunteering or working abroad. The inspiring and informative multimedia presentation lasts just over an hour. There are various giveaways, and one person who goes will win a flight to Australia with Qantas and a Topdeck tour.
The roadshows are aimed at backpackers, travellers and those interested in taking a gap year. The events are being held at universitys across the country, but they are open to people of all ages. There is no admission cost, entry to the roadshows is completely free.
Tim Fenton, general manager of gapyear.com, said: "It’s great for us to get out and meet real gappers and would-be gappers. 2012 is going to be a busy year for the gapyear.com business."
At time of writing, the dedicated roadshow team are making their way from Cambridge to the University of Manchester, where the second roadshow event will take place at 6pm this evening (Tuesday 7th February 2012).
After that it’s onto Oxford Brookes University tomorrow evening (Wednesday 8th February 2012, 6pm), and then on to the University of London tomorrow (Thursday 9th February 2012, 6pm) where the fourth and final of this week’s gap year events will take place.
More detailed information on the roadshows can be found on the roadshow section of the gapyear.com website.
