Winner Sadie Rose, 21, said: "I can't believe it... It still hasn't sunk in properly. I'm so happy and excited.

"I instantly thought this was the perfect competition for me because Australia is somewhere I've always wanted to go."

She added: "The thing I'm most looking forward to is the bush tucker trials! Bring it on!"

The 'I'm A Backpacker... Get Me In Here!' competition was a great success, with nearly 30,000 video views and more than 4,500 votes. Four of the six winners joined the gang at the final February 2012 roadshow in London on Thursday night. Among those present was Andy Gosling, 26, who gained the most number of 'Likes' on YouTube, reaching over 800 votes by the close.

He told "I'm understandably ecstatic. I'm off to the other side of the planet!"

Andy added: "I love the outdoors. The opportunity to spend some time in the jungle, challenging myself and hopefully bumping into some wildlife and creepy crawlies is really exciting."

Tim Fenton,'s general manager, said: "The response to 'I'm A Backpacker... Get Me In Here' has been amazing. People put a lot of effort and imagination into creating the videos and the buzz they created both on and the general social networks was fantastic."

He added: "With university fees likely to come down after 2012, now is the time to go for a gap year. Some estimate as many as 2.5m young Brits will start a gap year in 2012. The response we’ve had to this competition makes me think those numbers could turn out to be an underestimate."

The top six filmmakers are now preparing to fly down-under in the coming months courtesy of Qantas. They will stay at the luxurious Palazzo Versace hotel on Main Beach in Queensland before embarking on the adventure of a lifetime in the Gold Coast's subtropical jungle.
