Student wins roadshow Gold Coast prize

Gapyear.com has revealed the winner of their UK roadshow competition prize.

Frances Roach, 20, attended the Manchester leg of the gapyear.com nationwide tour and has won the amazing prize of a holiday on Australia's Gold Coast.

The prize, supplied courtesy of Gold Coast Tourism, will see Roach fly to Brisbane, Australia to embark on the holiday of a lifetime. The 16-day prize package will include accommodation, flights with Qantas and some incredible experiences, including a tandem skydive, underwater safari, jet boating, shopping, an eco tour of Fraser Island and entry to Currumbin Wildlife Sanctuary.

Frances, who lives in Warrington, said: "This feels incredible. I'm in a state of shock!"

Frances is in the final year of her Economics degree at the University of Manchester. She said: "After university I am actually planning to take a gap year and work in either Australia or Canada."

Gapyear.com roadshow presenter Marcus Sherifi said: "This is a mind-blowing prize; one of the best packages we have ever given away. It really is unbelievable. I wish I could have entered the competition myself!"

He added: "The best thing about the prize is that Frances is going to experience the very best of Australia's Gold Coast, from the beaches and shopping to the adventure, nature and wildlife."
