Travellers get inspired at the Adventure Travel Show
The Adventure Travel Show a huge hit among backpackers and travellers
Last weekend was the annual Telegraph Adventure Travel Show and it was once again a huge hit among backpackers and travellers.
Thousands of people turned up on Saturday and Sunday at the Olympia Exhibition Centre in London to see what was going on in the world of travel and to see a number of professional adventurers talk about their experiences.
This year saw one of the strongest line-ups ever with names such as adventurer Ben Fogle, Olympic hero James Cracknell, mountaineering legend Doug Scott, and Graham Hughes, that man who's recently travelled to every single country in the world, as well as a whole host of other people.
One of the most inspiring talks of the weekend came from adventurer and motivational speaker Dave Corthwaite who challenged everyone to do more with their lives and 'say yes more'.
Macca Sherifi, spokesperson for gapyear.com, also spoke at the event. He said: "The Adventure Travel Show was a huge success and a lot of fun. It was fantastic having such an engaged audience who were keen to learn about some of the options available on a gap year. Hopefully one or two people will be inspired to take a gap year!"
Luke Plastow who attended the event said: "I really liked the travel show. There was a mix of everything in there. It also introduced me to many people and products I had never heard of before.
"The talks were the highlight for me. I spent over three hours listening to travellers speaking of their experiences from sneaking into Russia to climbing up the wrong mountain in Greenland."
