102-year-old woman BASE jumps

Dorothy Custer celebrates her birthday in style

Sometimes in life you've just got to go out there and do it, even if that means throwing yourself off a bridge.

We've come across more than a few people who have pussied out of doing a bungee jump or a sky dive on their travels, but nothing was stopping Dorothy Custer celebrating her birthday in style, and she's 102 years old. What's your excuse?

Dorothy decided that she wanted to do something a little bit different for her birthday and a tandem BASE jump was exactly it. She jumped from a height of 486 feet at Perrine Bridge in Twin Falls, Idaho, USA.

You can tell from the video she thoroughly enjoyed the experience, which also gave her the record as the oldest person to ever make such a jump.

This is a far-cry of last year when she marked her 101st birthday by ziplining over the Snake River Canyon. What. A. Hero.

Take a leaf from Dorothy's book and get outside your comfort zone on your travels. Who knows, maybe it's the secret of living to over 100!

What do you think of Dorothy's BASE jump? Would you do something like that when you're 102? Or will you just be happy to be alive at 102? Post your comments below!
