A death (road) defying descent
The infamous Death Road in Bolivia has recently failed to live up to its name, as a cyclist survived a savage descent off the side of it.
Attempting a base jump off a make shift ramp his crew constructed, the arguably crazed rider cycled down the life-quenching track, recording his foolhardy stunt with a GoPro camera attached to his helmet.
His failed attempt to successfully complete the jump saw him and his bike tumble off the side of the cliff. The camera captures the harsh fall of the cyclist, recording his body being battered and broken by the terrain he was fortunate enough to survive an encounter with.
Renowned as the deadliest trail in the world, the road, which sits 4000m above sea level, is responsible for an average of 150 deaths per year. This information however seems to not be enough to deter people from cycling down it, let alone BASE jump off it.
Sustaining only minor injuries is a fate few are afforded when taking a tumble off the side of the road, proving that this man potentially owns more luck than sense. Despite his reasoning behind attempting the deed being questionable, the courage he has to tackle it is not.
