When it comes to deciding how you want to InterRail you really only have two choices: an InterRail Global pass or an InterRail country pass. All you have to do is pick where to go!
The InterRail Global Pass offers unlimited travel to 30 European countries, free ferry rides on various crossings, as well as extra discounts on hotels and attractions. If you are under 26 you can get an extra discount on your InterRail ticket by purchasing a Youth Pass, although if you want to travel in style in first class you’ll have to purchase a significantly more expensive Adult Pass.
Here are the options you can choose from...
The certain amount of days within travel, also known as aFlexi Pass, will allow you to travel by train 5 or 10 times on your trip; whereas the continuous lets you travel whenever you please.
The One Country pass allows you to travel to one of 27 countries extensively. This is the perfect option for travellers who prefer to experience one country thoroughly rather than briefly seeing several countries.
To book a country pass, you just have to decide on which country you wish to explore and decide how long you would like to travel around it.
You can choose between:
If you are planning to travel on a high-speed or over-night train then you will have to reserve a seat in advance and pay extra fees. Although the extra fees are likely to cost a lot less than a night’s stay at a hostel, you can avoid these fees by travelling on regional trains only.
You can only purchase an InterRail pass if you are a European resident and the train pass is not valid on journeys in your own country.
