Nursing & Midwifery Work Abroad

from £995
Duration: from 2 weeks
Countries: Bolivia, Ghana, India, Jamaica, Kenya, Mexico, Mongolia, Morocco, Nepal, Peru, Senegal, Sri Lanka, Tanzania, Togo, Vietnam
You can volunteer on a Nursing or Midwifery placement in one of the many hospitals, clinics, orphanages and care centres that we work with overseas and gain practical experience.

Nursing & Midwifery Work Abroad

Whether you are a student, a fully trained professional or thinking of a career in this field, you will have an important role to play. You will help to care for people in countries where hospitals and clinics are understaffed and often poorly resourced. As a volunteer you will be expected to become part of the team, shadowing your supervisor, assisting local staff and helping care for patients. Each placement is tailored, where possible, to the volunteer’s previous experience as well as individual interests.

Nursing volunteers will be expected to help with daily tasks such as bandaging, taking blood pressure and the general care of the patients at the centre or hospital.

Those on a midwifery placement are likely to be situated in a busy maternity clinic, helping pre- and post-natal women and also assisting staff with deliveries.

By volunteering on a nursing or midwifery project you are providing much needed support to both the patients and local community of these developing countries.
