Summary

Internships in Cape Town

In an on-going effort to assist local communities and NGO in the mission towards sustainable development, Kaya are recruiting talented interns to join us in the fight against deforestation. Intern for 4 to 8 weeks in the stunning city of Cape Town, South Africa.

This area is bursting with natural beauty, but unfortunately like most places, faces a threat of deforestation and the effects of climate change. Join the hard working and enthusiastic team, who have already planted over 18,000 trees in over 200 beneficiary schools, since 2010 as well as implementing dynamic and interesting activities for children and community members in their ambition towards environmental conservation.

However to expand their reach even further, they are offering international interns the chance to work alongside the team using your skills of graphic design, social media and PR or permaculture. Roles will vary depending on the program you choose. Graphic designers will spend time developing promotional material, brochures and online templates, which the PR team will then work to circulate and advertise, to get the word round to more communities about their important involvement in the tree planting movement. Permaculture interns will spend time across the various sites of the project, looking after nurseries and assisting with growing strategies. All interns will also get the chance to participate in community planting days, where you will use your passion and enthusiasm to inspire children in the area to join in the campaign.

Look forward to socialising with other volunteers at your volunteer house in the city and relaxing in the evenings. There is plenty to do around Cape Town, whether you are visiting the many bars and restaurants, or taking advantage of the beautiful beaches for water sports, tackling the great Table Mountain or going further afield to Kruger National Park and other surrounding attractions.
