If India has always been on your bucket list, look no further than Kaya's Experience India Tour. Designed to combine the best India has to offer with meaningful volunteer work, you will get the best of both worlds as you go between many of India's finest cities and sights and take the opportunity to slow down and help others, by living alongside a disadvantaged community and offering your skills to contribute to their sustainable development.

The tour will take you on a whirlwind journey between Jaipur, Pushkar, Agra (Taj Mahal), Delhi, Haridwar, Rishikesh and Goa, with a plethora of activities from visiting local landmarks such as the Taj Mahal, Bollywood dancing, Indian cooking, camel safari, elephant and rickshaw ride, sightseeing trip of Goa, yoga class and of course your volunteer project.

Throughout the tour you will stay in hotels, guesthouses and volunteer camps, depending on the location, and you will receive meals as indicated in the itinerary. You will be picked up from the airport on arrival and taken back at the end of your stay, plus you will have an English tour guide for the duration of the trip. You will need to arrange your flights, visa and insurance yourself, but our project advisors are on hand to give you all the advice you need for that.

Itinerary:

Day 1 – (Friday) Arrive into Delhi airport. Transfer to hotel and overnight in Delhi (no meals).
Day 2 – Jaipur. Drive to Jaipur. Attend a small orientation and briefing about your tour. Check in to the camp in Jaipur.
Day 3 - Spend some time shopping in the local Bazaars and choose a set of activities from learning Bollywood dancing, leaning about typical and traditional styles of Indian dress, learn the Indian art of Henna making (no meals).
Day 4 – Jaipur. Visit Amber Fort, ride an elephant and take a rickshaw ride through the busy markets and experience the real ‘Pink City’ (no meals). There will be free time for shopping or exploring.
Day 5 – Jaipur to Pushkar. Your journey will take you 150kms over 4 hours. Upon arrival in Pushkar, you will go on a camel safari in the desert and camp overnight (breakfast and dinner).
Day 6 – Pushkar to Lalsot. You will have a guided tour of Pushkar after breakfast and visit Holy Lake and Lord Brahma’s temple. Later, you will transfer from Pushkar to Jaipur. (breakfast and dinner).
Day 7 to 11 – Jaipur. You will be volunteering in Jaipur, getting the opportunity to work with communities and experience authentic Indian culture (breakfast, lunch and dinner).
Day 12 – Jaipur to Agra. You will be travelling 260kms over 6 hours, taking in many sights along the way. Upon arrival, you will visit one of the world’s most iconic structures - The Taj Mahal (breakfast).
Day 13 – Agra to Delhi. You will transfer to Delhi. Upon arrival, you are free to relax or arrange your own activities (breakfast and dinner).
Day 14 – Delhi. After a sightseeing tour of New Delhi, you will visit Raj Ghat, the monument built in honour of Mahatma Ghandi and take in the serene Gurudwara Bangla Sahib, where you will learn more about Sikhism (breakfast, lunch and dinner).
Day 15 – Delhi to Haridwar. You will transfer to Haridwar and make the 6 hour journey by road(breakfast).
Day 16 – Haridwar to Rishikesh. In the morning, you will visit the temples of Haridwar and sight see. Later in the day, you will visit a couple of famous sight by the sacred Ganges River. You will stay overnight in Ashram (breakfast).
Day 17 – Rishikesh. You will have a yoga lesson and meditation session in the morning, followed by an afternoon of visiting the market and temples in Rishikesh (breakfast).
Day 18 – Rishikesh. You will have another yoga lesson in the morning. In the evening, you will visit Triveni Ghat and view the holy Ganges Aarti (breakfast).
Day 19 – Rishikesh. Take part in a mountain trek and camp overnight before returning to Rishikesh the following morning (breakfast).
Day 20 - Return from trekking in the morning and spend the day pursuing your own activities. (breakfast)
Day 21 – Rishikesh to Delhi. Your journey to Delhi will take you 300km over 8 hours. You will stay in Delhi overnight upon arrival where you can relax and freshen up (breakfast and dinner).
Day 22 – Delhi to Goa. After breakfast, you will fly from Delhi to Goa. (breakfast and dinner).
Day 23 to Day 27 – Goa. Spend time volunteering in the local communities with your weekend free to relax on the beach (breakfast, lunch and dinner).
Day 28 – Thursday departure for your flight from Goa Airport (breakfast).
