This really is our ultimate complete gap year. It'll take you around the world, stopping off in all the big places, setting you up to travel around South East Asia, Australia and a big old chunk of South America too.

Here's an example itinerary for just some of the things you could do:

Itinerary

First stop: Bangkok to Singapore
Explore the streets of bustling Bangkok, stop by Penang's Chinese shop houses, glimpse beautiful green vistas in the the Cameron Highlands, dive into multicultural Kuala Lumpur, visit three diverse countries in two weeks.

Second stop: Sydney to Cairns
We're giving you a head start in Australia by supplying you with a 10 night Base Backpackers hostel pass, which can be used anywhere in Australia. Check in for your first few nights in Sydney and get your bearings. When you're ready to see more of the country, we've included a flexible Greyhound bus pass to take you up to Cairns. Take as long as you like and stop off wherever you fancy. Total flexibility.

Third stop: Auckland
There is no better way to see this fabulous country than on a Kiwi Experience bus. Hit the road with your fellow travellers and explore both beautiful islands, the Whole Kit and Caboodle! You can stop off anywhere you like, and take as long as you like to explore each place. We've not provided any accommodation here as the Kiwi Experience bus drivers will drop you off at the very best hostels with your new friends.

Fourth stop: Santiago to Rio
Taste the best Chilean wines at its source, visit local villages and enjoy a traditional meal, appreciate the beauty of the Lake District by scenic ferry, marvel at the mighty Iguassu Falls, sip caipirinhas on a Brazilian beach, savour a local meal in an Afro-Brazilian community.
