This is one of our most popular tours and you will see why as you explore from East to West on this epic road trip!

Day 1-2: New York Area, Philadelphia & Washington DC (2015)

Strap on your boxing gloves and head for Philadelphia's famous `Rocky' steps and recreate a piece of movie history. Cast your eyes on Independence Hall where brave men gathered at the Pennsylvania State House and defied the King of England which helped shape U.S Constitution. Why not peruse the Reading Terminal Market and if all this action has got you hungry, grab yourself an iconic Philly cheese steak one of the many famous local specialities not to be missed! Washington DC is next on the agenda and you will really enjoy the grandeur of the nation's capital. From the impressive Smithsonian Museums to the White House and the city's trendy bars, the capital has something for everyone. Why not hire a bike to cover more ground and then take advantage of the great nightlife in Georgetown, an evening view of the illuminated monuments is worth checking out too.

Accommodation: Camping included

Day 3: Appalachian Mountains (2015)

You'll certainly appreciate the grand views of the rolling green slopes of the Appalachian Mountains as you cruise through Virginia. The numerous trails are calling out your name, so strap on your walking boots and stretch those legs with a memorable walk through the lush national forests. With photo opportunities around every bend, make sure you also keep an eye out for Appalachian residents such as cougars, deers, black bear and great horned owl, this really is a magical place.

Accommodation: Camping included

Day 4: Ocoee, Tennessee (2015)

Next up is the hard-hitting State of Tennessee where you overnight in Ocoee. In 1996 the world's eyes were on Ocoee as it hosted the world's first Olympic white water event and still to this day it boasts some of the world's best rafting. Don a life jacket, grip a paddle and bounce along an exhilarating stretch of white water on an optional rafting trip, but don't forget to look up as you'll fly past some pretty awesome scenery. For those of you not keen on the rapids, there are a number of surrounding trails to explore, so don't forget your camera.

Day 5: Nashville (2015)

From Honky Tonk bars to The Grand Ole Opry, they don't call Nashville the `centre of the music world' for nothing! This place is full of life and you'll be hot footing your way from one country bar to the next. Find out all about the history of music at the Country Music Hall of Fame and Museum, home to the largest collection of country music in the world. Even if Country isn't your thing, there's live bands everywhere you go, so you're sure to be singing along by the end of the day.

Accommodation: Camping included

Day 6: Memphis (2015)

Turn up that radio you're about to hit Memphis, the birthplace of Rock `n' Roll! With that in mind why not visit Sun Studios the home of Rock `n' Roll which opened in 1950, a place where many great names have passed through. Stroll along Beale Street where the electric atmosphere will keep you entertained for hours as you listen out for some of the best Jazz and Blues music in town. There is more to Memphis than just music, pay a visit to the National Civil Rights Museum located in the former Lorraine Hotel and see the place where Martin Luther King was assassinated.

Accommodation: Camping included

Day 7-8: New Orleans (2015)

Beyond Mississippi we hit Louisiana, home of the Big Easy. Here in jazz central, sultry bass and chirpy rhythms are king, New Orleans is definitely a city every music fan must make a pilgrimage to at least once in their lifetime. Head into the enchanting French Quarter and hear the real deal at Preservation Hall, before tucking into some classic and delicious Southern cuisine. If you don't want to stop at just eating the likes of gumbo and jamabalaya, why not take part in an optional New Orleans cookery class and really impress the folks back home. Make a beeline for the notorious nightlife of Bourbon Street, where almost anything goes. New Orleans is a place full of life and is a place you won't forget in a long, long time.

Accommodation: Hotels included in tour price

Day 9: Louisiana, Texas (2015)

Look for gators on our optional Louisiana swamp tour through the mysterious bayous of Cajun country (a must do!). The Lone Star bids you a big-hearted welcome for the first of your four nights in mighty Texas.

Accommodation: Camping included

Day 10-11: Austin, Texas (2015)

The music keeps on flowing as you arrive in Austin, another place which vies for the title of capital of America's music scene. Austin is an electric, cultural and artistic city which packs a punch. Live music can be heard almost any night of the week, so after a day of exploring, hit up the city for a dose of top shelf music and of course as the drinks start flowing, lots and lots of dancing.

Accommodation: Camping included

Day 12: North Texas (2015)

A state which is larger than some countries is the biggest state in the continental USA and is also home to plenty of delicious Mexican-American cuisine, `Tex-Mex', spicy fajitas and tacos. Hitch up in Fort Stockton and opt for a historical tour of this frontier army post, active from 1867-1886. If you want to cover more ground, Balmorhea is a great place to stop to enjoy the crystal-clear water of the world's largest spring-fed swimming pool. Swim, scuba dive, or just relax under the trees.

Accommodation: Camping included

Day 13: Santa Fe (2015)

For all the art lovers out there Santa Fe is the one for you, visit Canyon Road, home to art galleries, cultural treasures such as hand-woven Navajo rugs, historic adobe buildings and a vibrant restaurant scene. Santa Fe will definitely win you over with its laid back charm and with tons of festivals and events throughout the year, you're bound to stumble upon something interesting.

Accommodation: Camping included

Day 14: Monument Valley (2015)

Monument Valley is by far one of the most photographed places in America and as soon as you lay eyes on it you will understand why. Immerse yourself in the native Navajo culture on an included guided jeep tour of the Navajo Reservation and back roads. Experience the home of the real `Wild West' as you stand in front of one of the most iconic landscapes in the area, Monument Valley. Marvel at the sight of towering buttes and mesas which dominate the awe-inspiring landscape. You won't find a better location to swap campfire stories under a blanket of stars.

Accommodation: Camping included

Day 15-16: Grand Canyon National Park (2015)

No trip west is complete without a stop at the mighty Grand Canyon to experience the grandeur of one of the Earth's natural wonders. Pack your boots and don't forget your camera for a sunrise/sunset hike along the rim. For the more ambitious take the long hike down Bright Angel Trail to Plateau Point or take to the sky and see the Grand Canyon in all its glory on an optional helicopter flight. The Grand Canyon is magnificent from any angle, but one thing is for sure you will never forget your first glimpse of the canyon, whether it be from a walk along the rim or the ultimate birds eye view.

Accommodation: Camping included

Day 17-18: Lake Powell & Zion National Park (2015)

Without a doubt one of the most beautiful viewpoints in the Southwest, Horseshoe Bend makes for an impressive stop, before washing off the desert dust in the refreshing waters of Lake Powell. Straddling the border of Utah and Arizona, Lake Powell is desert paradise with a long list of things to do. Go for a swim in the crystal clear waters or simply sit by the shore and relax. Then it's on to epic Zion National Park where you can get unbelievable 360 degree views of the entire National Park with a hike up to Angels Landing. Whether you're up top or down below Zion National Park will blow your mind and you're guaranteed one heck of a great time here.

Accommodation: Camping included

Day 19-20: Las Vegas (2015)

Time to put those lucky numbers to the test, not to mention your energy levels in this 24/7 party town. A-list stars swarm here, although breaking the bank may be easier than blagging your way into their swanky celebrity hangouts. If that fails you can still cruise The Strip in a super-stretch limousine or ease the pain in one of the famous all-you-can-eat buffets. But Vegas isn't all about gambling and clubs, why not check out a show, take an evening flight down the Strip or get yourself hitched by Elvis Presley (don't worry it's not legally binding, unless you want it to be).

Accommodation: Hotels included in tour price

Day 21: Las Vegas & Los Angeles (2015)

Say goodbye to the bright lights of Las Vegas and hello to the beautiful Californian sunshine with your final stop in glitzy Los Angeles. Check out the Hollywood Walk of Fame as well as a lookout spot to see the Hollywood sign, before heading to Venice Beach boardwalk and then sadly your epic road trip must come to an end, but don't worry you'll have 21 days of awesome memories to take home with you.

This tour ends at approximately 17:00 hrs. We can book you post-tour accommodation at our gateway hotel if required. If you are planning to fly tonight, please do not book a flight that departs before 22:00 hrs.
