Cycle Central America

This trip gives you a piece of magic; aboard your bike, you’ll pedal through the lush countryside of Nicaragua, Costa Rica, and Panama; past gleaming lakes, enormous volcanoes, colonial towns, and sunny beachfronts across the Caribbean. These are iconic destinations and seeing them on two wheels gives a unique perspective on the region. The ride of your life is waiting to begin. All that’s missing is you.

Day 1 Granada

Arrive at any time.

Day 2-3 Ometepe (2B,2L,1D)

Cycle to Masaya Volcano National Park and transfer by bus along the Pan-American Highway before reaching the ferry to cross Lake Nicaragua for a Planeterra-supported homestay on Ometepe with a local family.

Day 4-5 La Fortuna (1B)

Continue along the Pan-American Highway and cycle around Lake Arenal on the way to La Fortuna.

Day 6-7 San José (1B,1D)

Cycle from Arenal to San José, then follow downhill tracks on the slope of Costa Rica's highest volcano (Irazú) to the colonial town of Orosi.

Continue cycling along the scenic Orosi and Reventazon River valleys, past coffee and sugarcane plantations to Turrialba.

Day 9-10 Puerto Viejo (2B,1L)
