Get ready to hit the ground running in this 28-day whirlwind tour of Indonesia’s top sights. We mean that literally, too – you’ll stay active as you hike and explore Berastagi, Sipirok, Tangkahan, Bukit Lawang and more. Recharge with street food crawls and coffee plantation tours, and take the time to get up close and personal with orangutans and elephants. Experiencing it all with a group of like-minded travellers is the best way to get the most out of this dynamic country.

Day 1 Medan

Arrive at any time.

Day 2-3 Bukit Lawang (2B)

Morning tour of Medan. In Bukit Lawang, visit the orangutan viewing platform, and opt to go jungle trekking in Gunung Leuser NP.

Day 4-5 Tangkahan (2B)

Traverse bumpy roads to reach this small jungle community. Opt to participate in an elephant feeding session, or go hiking

Day 6-7 Berastagi (2B)

Hike from Tangkahan to Bukit Lawang, then continue by bus to Berastagi. Orientation walk upon arrival. Opt to hike a volcano or tour traditional villages.

Day 8-9 Samosir Island (2B)

Travel to the world's largest volcano lake, Lake Toba. Chill out and swim in the warm waters of the lake, or opt for some culture by visiting local Batak villages.

Day 10 Sipirok (1B)

Stop off at local villages and markets en route to this beautiful hilltop town surrounded by rice fields, and enjoy an orientation walk.

Day 11-12 Bukittinggi (2B)

Orientation walk upon arrival after a long travel day. Free day to go rafting, visit Sianok Canyon, or check out Japanese caves from World War II.

Day 13 Maninjau (1B)

Transfer down to the beautiful crater lake of Maninjau. Enjoy the slow pace of life and do not miss the sunset!

Day 14-15 Jakarta (2B)

Transfer to Padang, and take a flight to Jakarta. Free time to explore the thriving capital of Indonesia. Enjoy one of two street food crawls with the group and CEO while here.

Day 16 Cianjur (1B)

Visit a tea plantation en route to this city, then experience local life by sleeping at a homestay.

Day 17 Bandung (1B)

Orientation walk of Bandung then enjoy free time to explore independently.

Day 18-20 Yogyakarta (3B)

Scenic train trip to Yogyakarta, then free time to visit local sights such as the Buddhist Borobudur temple complex, Javanese temples, or Mt Merapi. Get out and explore this bustling city.

Day 21 Tawangmangu (1B)

Enjoy an optional stop to explore the Prambanan temples, then opt to continue on to the Sukuh Temple with its erotic carvings, followed by a beautiful walk through small villages and farms to Tawangmangu.

Day 22 Malang (1B)

Take a scenic journey to Bromo Tengger Semeru NP.

Day 23 Mt Bromo (1B)

Early morning hike to view the enchanting moonscape of Mt Bromo.

Day 24 Kalibaru (1B)

Journey to the famous Indonesian coffee plantations of Kalibaru.

Day 25-26 Pemuteran (2B)

Head to Bali and the beach with time to relax or explore the national park. Opt to take a snorkelling trip to Menjangan Island.

Day 27 Sanur (1B)

Travel to Sanur via hot springs and pristine cascades before enjoying a final night out with the group.

Day 28 Sanur (1B)

Depart at any time.
