Teaching in Buddhist Monasteries
Nepal with its wonderful natural sights and its rich history, is a very fascinating country to visit for anyone. Throughout Kathmandu, children and adults attend monasteries all over the city to receive education and training. Especially the ability to speak and read English can significantly change the life of a Bhuddist monk. The main aim of this teaching assistant programme is to teach the people in Nepal the English language and also create a way of making Bhuddist scripture available for people from all over the world.
Participants will be able to teach English in a monastery to students of various different ages and abilities. There is a great variety to this unique teaching experience and since volunteers will be asked to plan their own lessons, they will gain extremely useful skills for anyone interested in teaching. From time to time you will also have the opportunity to supervise extracurricular activities.
During their free time volunteers can discover and fully experience the country by taking part in activities such as rafting, trekking, kayaking or even bungee-jumping.
This programme really has a lot to offer to anyone who is interested in teaching and the unique country of Nepal.
