Starting and then finishing in Athens, where modernity and antiquity meet, when we’re not navigating through the glinting sea and between tree-covered islands with rocky coastlines, we will be ashore exploring quaint towns and ancient ruins, tasting irresistible dishes and experiencing the laidback way of Greece island life. Just thinking about how relaxing sailing in Greece will be is exhausting!
Day 1: Athens to Perdika
Break out the anchor tattoos and hoist the sails. You’re officially first mate today. Don’t worry, there’s a salty sea dog on hand to run things if sunbathing’s more your thing as we point our compass to Perdika. Then: a well-earned world-class souvlaki dinner.
Day 2: Ermioni
Cast off and head for Ermioni, a sailors’ retreat for 2,000 years and counting. It’s also ranked as Greece’s most historical village, so grab some yiros, pick a century and set your watch to island time.
Day 3: Spetses
Leave Ermioni behind and set course for the naval town of Spetses – a spot that has so much charm you’ll need some serious counselling to get over it. A spin around to Agia Marina is next for a serious beach session.
Day 4: Hydra
According to legend you should keep an eye out for Heracles and multi-headed monsters today. Straight out of the movies, the Monastery of Agia Eupraxia is still filled with nuns. Leave the sign up for later, it’s time for a bit of Greek wining and dining.
Day 5: Poros
Poros is about as Greek as you’re going to get as far as photo-ops go. Go old-school at the temple of Poseidon then shake off the cobwebs with a bit of wakeboarding before another epic Greek sunset session. Yep, this is life.
Day 6: Agistri
Smooth sailing is actually a thing – and you’re still sailing. On a yacht. In Greece! Charts out and on to Agistri today. Your mission tonight: calamari, dolmades and endless bragging about that yacht you just rocked up in. We won’t tell.
Day 7: Athens
Have a swim, grab some sun and set sail to Athens. You might need to hang up your captain’s hat, but the title is earned for life. Polish your peg-leg and chat to us about your next expedition today.
