In the Foothills of the Himalayas
Temples and paddy fields. Motorbikes and buffalo. Prayer flags and dusty plains. Nepal is a country of incredible colour and diversity. There's so much more to Nepal than snowy mountains and yaks, as you'll discover on a Raleigh expedition, by becoming truly immersed in the local culture.
How does it work?
Spend five, seven or ten weeks in rural Nepal. Living and working alongside local people, you will work to rebuild houses destroyed in 2015's devastating earthquake. You and your team will be making a difference making homes for rural families.
You'll also have the chance to develop your leadership and teamwork skills. We'll support you through an exciting adventure leadership challenge, during which you'll trek in the foothills of the Himalayas - some of the most stunning mountain ranges in the world.
With Raleigh, you can rest assured that your work will have a positive impact. As a charity, we're committed to supporting communities to develop. We are also dedicated to ensuring that you, as a volunteer, get as much as you can out of your expedition. We'll make sure that your time with us is structured and supported, and that you return home with newfound levels of confidence and resilience. A Raleigh expedition is challenging, but it's also exciting and fun. You'll make friends from around the world and come back with memories that last you a lifetime.
