Volunteer & Local Living in India

Join one of our affordable volunteering programs in India for just $180 per week. You will have the opportunity to take part in Teaching Projects, Street Children Programs, Orphanage Care Assistance projects, Women's Empowerment and Elephant Programs. Projects are open all around the year - this means you can arrive anytime or pick your own dates to start the program. All our volunteers live together with an Indian host family; the host family provides 3 Indian vegetarian meals. Everyday the project taxi come to pick you from the accomodation and transfer you to the program site. You will also have a project coordinator/English translator at the project site who will help you in the work and guide you. Volunteers work Monday to Friday and on weekends we arrange sightseeing trips in famous local tourist spots in Jaipur, India.

All you have to do is just simply let us know which program you are looking to join. Below is some basic info about the various programs and activities:-

1. Teaching Program - In this program you will teach basic English and maths to children aged 5 to 12 years old. These children live in rural and slum areas in the city. Their parents are not able to send children to school due to poverty so with the help of our team members we have built a small school for these children to get a free education everyday. We also provide free stationery as well in the program.

2. Orphan & Street Children Program - We have built a centre for children who have been kidnapped by criminal gangs in India, children whom are orphans and for those whom have been abandoned by their parents on roads, traffic signals, railway station and bus stops because of poverty. These children face the problems in life such as child labour, gender discrimination, homelessness, poverty, lack of health care and abuse from members of society.

3. Women's Empowerment - In this program you will be involved in activities such as teaching basic English/maths and also help our centre to run extra curricular activities like skills & personal development for these women. You will help to train them in craft work, drawing, stitching and sewing and help with counselling sessions for their problems and help to generate an income source for them.

4. Elephant Care Program - On this Elephant Care Program you will help elephant Mahouts with feeding the elephants, bathing them, cleaning their area, make bundles of hay & Indian Roti (Chapati) for them to eat. This activity run everyday in Jaipur's Elephant Village. India's first and the world's third Elephant Village.
