Summary

Community Impact South America

One of our most popular programmes, you get to experience the very best that Ecuador and Peru have to offer. The Amazon Rainforest, Machu Picchu, Lake Titicaca, the Pacific Coast, The Andes Mountains and plenty of vibrant cities in between.

You'll live and work alongside some of the most amazing communities and gain an understanding of their cultures and traditions. You'll work on a variety of important projects that make a measurable improvement to their quality of life. Get stuck into work refurbishing primary school facilities. Build greenhouses, plant seeds and saplings, and carry out workshops on healthy eating for the local children.

Project work

Trek for a few hours to Cruz del Condor to take in the unbelievable scenery and spot the world's largest flying bird, the condor, soaring above you. The vibrant bustling cities of Cusco and Arequipa are yours to explore. A visit to the markets to pick up some Peruvian handicrafts is a must, as is sampling some traditional Pisco Sours. The 4 day trek to Machu Picchu is a once in a lifetime adventure. You'll trek the Salkantay Trail to the amazing World Heritage Site. There's also a visit the man made floating islands of Uros, a vibrant community living on islands made purely of reeds.

Soak up the laid back vibes of the beachside towns of Montanita and Puerto Lopez on the coast of Ecuador. The town of Banos delivers some serious adrenaline, a giant swing over the Amazon rainforest, white water rafting and zip lining are all up for grabs.

We challenge you to find a more action packed 3 months anywhere. Be part of the culture with Camps, not just an observer of it.
