Duration: from 4 weeks

TEFL Certification in the land of Lakes and Volcanoes. A 4 week accredited course with teaching practice, fully preparing you to teach English all over the World. Your adventure starts here!

TEFL Nicaragua With Job Placement

Nicaragua’s numerous volcanoes, rivers and lakes have truly earned it the nickname of ‘The Land of Lakes and Volcanoes’. Largely undiscovered by tourists and retirees, Nicaragua is the best kept secret in Central America. However, over the last few years tourism has doubled and with it the demand for qualified English teachers.

The Course

Our 190 hour program doesn’t just examine the theory of teaching but also gives  the opportunity for hands on experience. During 6 or more teaching practices students will visit one of the poorest parts of Granada and teach some of the most disadvantaged children in the region. Students will be guided through their lesson planning, peer observed during the practice and receive feedback from one another after class. This creates a very supportive environment to learn in whilst  also being a very  rewarding experience and benefit to the local community.

INTESOL Nicaragua maintains the highest quality assurance standards for TEFL course training through external accreditation.  This ensures that your TEFL certification is accepted and valued by ELT employers all over the world. Our course content will ensure you leave our program and will be able to confidently walk into a new class and start teaching English as a foreign language anywhere in the world.

Job Placement

After graduating from the course, our job service will help you put together your CV and practice interviews with you. Through our many established relationships with schools and employers we will help setup introductions for you and get you started on your new, rewarding adventure!

Accommodation options in Granada are varied and we have a number of options we can organise for you. Our first choice however would be a homestay as this gives back to the community and offers an affordable, quiet environment for you to study in during your course. All our homestay families are within easy walking distance of the school.

Living in a typical Nicaraguan home environment you will have the opportunity to improve your Spanish, experience the local way of life and also make lasting friendships. Including breakfast, lunch and dinner every day of your stay, this is the cheapest of our accommodation options.

A home-stay typically costs $100 per week including three meals per day. This is a great way to support the local community with all the money going to your local family.

Travel and Explore

When students choose to study with INTESOL Nicaragua, they are choosing to visit one of the most diverse and adventure-filled countries in Central America. Our students have the opportunity to explore Nicaragua through the wide variety of trips and excursions organised by the INTESOL team. These may include zip lining over jungle canopies whilst swinging past monkeys and macaws, visiting an active volcano to see glowing molten lava and incredible columns of steam rising from the craters, explore the Pacific beaches and trying some of the freshest and best tasting seafood Nicaragua has to offer.
