If you have already fallen in love with Sydney you will love the rest of New South Wales. We kick off today with a short drive across to Kirribilli on the north side of the Sydney Harbour to check out some of the best views that Sydney has to offer. You’ll see where Australia’s European settlement kicked off, as well as learn more about two of the city’s most famous icons, the Harbour Bridge, and the Sydney Opera House. After a short walking tour of the area, and up onto the Harbour Bridge, we’ll then head to the beach to check out the laidback lifestyle of Manly Beach. From here a quick trip up the freeway where we are then met by some local Aboriginal people for a “Welcome to Country and Smoking ceremony” and learn of some local indigenous Rock Art sites, bush tucker and of course some tastings! Arriving into the coastal area of Port Stephens we will get our bearings and after such a jam-packed first day on our travels it is time for a filling feast and maybe even a ‘coldie’ at the local bar.

This chilled and laidback holiday town has so much to offer and it all relates to relaxing and enjoying the outdoors and waterways. With this comes seafood and there are plenty of options to choose from but we will start with some tastings of the local catch along the way. .

Detouring off the main roads, we venture into the famous Australian wine region of the Hunter Valley.  Our time in wine country begins with swapping the bus for some bikes and venture around this beautiful area to visit some local vineyard, brewery, and of course there has to be chocolate!! We then get into the serious stuff for the day and yes you guessed it - jump in an oak barrel and experience the age-old tradition of pressing the grapes by foot! A walk through the vines then in to the Hunter Wine Theatre where we learn all about the grape’s fascinating journey from vine to bottle before enjoying an intimate, structured wine school.  The Hunter Valley’s local produce is mouth-watering and you’ll have plenty of choice to sample this all right here in this stunning setting.  Rounding out the day overlooking the rolling vine striped hills with a glass of something in hand – this is sure to make the best cover photo ever!
