Work and Travel in Sydney
Make instant friends when you arrive in Sydney and hit the ground running, this fantastic one week orientation will get you set up for working in Australia. Our team will help you set up bank accounts, sim cards, tax file numbers and medicare cards. You will be given advice on CVs and how to conduct an interview, and there is job support for the full 12months of your working holiday visa.
What will I be doing?
The initial week is full of fun activities such as trips to Bondi beach, The Blue Mountains, city tours and much more. This will be interspersed with a mixture of presentations and job finding help. The work available to you includes admin roles, in retail, bars and restaurants, cafes and construction and much more. You can start work in Sydney and during the year that your visa is valid, work in a number of different cities including some in New Zealand. Most jobs pay around $19 per hour.
During your introduction week, you will be staying at the YHA hostel in the heart of Sydney. The hostel is fantastic with modern facilities such as 24 WiFi, barbecue area and clean dormitory style rooms. Some meals are included during this week. Once you have taken job, the team in Sydney will give you helpful advice on where to rent apartments with your new friends. Get the most out of your year abroad with work and travel!
