Summary

Hands-on Thai Zoo Keeper Experience

Volunteer with Lions, Leopards and Tigers in the Thai jungle, as well as working alongside a variety of exotic species.

Devote your time to working with the world's most majestic big cats in the stunning countryside village of Bo Phloi, Thailand. You will join a fantastic team of volunteers living, volunteering and making memories of a lifetime together.

Your days will be filled with hands-on experience with Lions, Leopards and Tigers. Enriching their lives and ensuring all their needs are met.

What will I be doing?

Everyday you'll be waking up to the sound of the roaring lions and the loud calls of our Gibbon, Chutney.

Work at the Safari Park is fun and rewarding; you'll build great bonds with all of our animals and create lifelong friends.

However throughout your days you will be;

  • Supporting our Thai staff to clean the animals enclosures
  • Feeding all of our animals. (Often hand-feeding our wonderful cubs)
  • Observing the behaviour and health of our animals
  • PLAYING with our cats to keep them entertained
  • WALKING our cats deep into the jungle for enrichment
  • SWIMMING in a lake with our water loving Tigers
  • BUILDING anything our animals need; new houses, hides and play frames
  • HAVING FUN!

About the Safari Park

Our zoo is host to many rescued animals such as Gibbons, Macaques and Binturongs along with being the home of giraffe, zebra, birds, four Asian elephants and over 50 big cats.

The volunteering program has been running for over four years and is growing bigger every year influencing major changes in the park including the current building of a new bear enclosure.

Accommodation and Food

Our volunteers all live together in on-suite rooms for two. Bring a friend or make a friend! We have comfy beds, warm showers and plenty of storage space.

Miss Air and our fantastic kitchen staff prepare fresh lunches and dinners accommodating for everyone including vegans and vegetarians. Breakfast is a variety of foods such as cereal, bread/toast, fresh fruits and yogurts.

Getting to us

The Safari Park is only three hours from Thailand's capital, Bangkok. Taxis can be taken direct from the airport to us or you can use public transport which consists of two buses and our fantastic driver, Mr Lee will pick you up from the local town Kanchanaburi.
