Ocean to Ocean
Day 1 - 2. Cape Town – Cederberg – Orange River
Today starts with a visit to the Cape Flats, one of Cape Town intriguing townships where will interact with the locals at one of the community projects. We pause the night near the Cederberg before arriving at Gariep (Orange) River. This afternoon is free where can relax by river or take an optional canoe safari on the Orange River.
Day 3 - 4. Orange River - Fish River Canyon – Sesriem Area
We cross the border into Namibia today and stop for the night near the Canyon, marvelling its beauty. Next on the list is Sesriem area, the gateway to Naukluft National Park. Famous for the world’s oldest desert and highest sands dunes.
Day 5 –7 . Sesriem - Solitaire - Swakopmund
We wake up early this morning and head inside the national park to trek to the top of famous Dune 45. After breakfast we continue deeper inside the park for a nature walk to ‘dead vlei’ which lies among the giant sand dunes. We overnight in Solitaire, cross the Tropic of Capricorn to Swakopmund for two nights. Enjoy the many optional activities here – sand boarding, skydiving or simply enjoy the town’s vibrant atmosphere.
Day 8 - 10 . Swakopmund - Spitzkoppe - Etosha
Today we are heading inland and spend the night at eerie Spitzkoppe before we make our way to Etosha National Park where we game drive and camp inside the park for the next two nights. Etosha is vast reserve surrounding a central salt pan which is seasonally full of water but special managed waterholes sustain some 114 mammals and 340 bird species.
Day 11 - 13. Etosha National Park – Windhoek – Ghanzi - Maun
Today we spend the night in Windhoek, the capital before crossing the border to Ghanzi where we meet the San Bushman and have a guided bush walk and gain insight into these ancient people’s culture and way of life. It’s then off to Maun, the gateway to the Okavango Delta.
Day 14 - 16. Okavango Delta – Maun - Nata
We leave our campsite in Maun and jump into 4x4 trucks to begin our excursion into the Delta making our way to the Mokoro stations. Here we meet our local Tswana polers that will be our guides on this overnight expedition into this UNESCO World Heritage Site. The next day, we retrace our footsteps back to Maun. Next is Elephant sands in Nata after a stop to see one of Africa’s most iconic trees - the Baobob.
Day 17 - 19. Nata – Kasane – Livingstone, Zambia
Today we are making our way toward Chobe National Park. We are camp in Kasane just outside the park and we embark on the ‘Fish Eagle’ river cruise on the Chobe River In hope to see the incredible wildlife this park has to offer, especially the elephants, hippos and buffalo. The next day, we enjoy an open 4x4 game drive before crossing into Zambia making our way to Livingstone and the home of the mighty Victoria Falls. We spend the next 2 nights here at leisure to enjoy the many optional activities on offer.
Day 20 - 23. Livingstone - Victoria Falls – Hwange NP - Bulawayo
Today we are cross the border to Victoria Falls, Zimbabwe pausing for the night en-route to Hwange National Park. Once we arrive we take an open vehicle game drive in the late afternoon. Moving on, we make our way to Bulawayo and the Matobo National Park in hope to take a glimpse of the magnificent rhino by foot.
Day 24 - 26. Bulawayo - Tshipise – Hazyview – Kruger NP
Leaving Bulawayo we cross the border to South Africa pausing for a night at Tshipise before making our way to Southern Africa's premier game reserve, Kruger. Our accommodation is just outside of the park in Hazyview and we get to enjoy local Shangaan tribal dancing and singing in the evening and a full day game driving the following day in search for the ‘Big 5’.
Day 27- 29. Hazyview - Xai-Xai – Vilanculos
We leave South Africa, crossing the border into Mozambique and towards the Indian Ocean coast. We make our way to the town of Xai Xai in the capital of the Gaza Province where we will spend the evening. We then travel north today to Vilanculos via the town of Inhambane ready for our Dhow safari to Magaruque Island where you have the opportunity to snorkel, swim, walk, hike or just enjoy the island at leisure.
Day 30 -31. Vilanculos - Inhambane
We make our way to the coastal town of Inhambane and the nearby beach of Tofo where you have time to yourself over the next two days to take in optional activities or explore the old town.
Day 32. Tofo - Komatipoort - Johannesburg
We leave Mozambique today and cross the border back into South Africa and Komatipoort where we spend the evening. It's then off to Johannesburg where the tour ends in the late afternoon.
