Our programs are designed for you to experience South Africa at its best: its cultural diversity, natural, scenic beauty and wide range of activities guarantee you the adventure of a lifetime! Our location opens possibilities to explore, from pristine Indian Ocean Beaches to Big 5 game reserves and Cultural Interactions.

Our hands-on programs include day to day care of our horses, from feeding to training. The included educational sessions offer you the opportunity to learn about stable management, horse care, horse training and natural horsemanship. Our programs are not limited to working with horses but will also be fun-filled with activities and meaningful community outreach projects where you will get a glimpse of contemporary rural community life.

What's included

-During your time at African Horse Adventures you’ll stay in Shared en- suite accommodation (max 2 people per room)
-All Breakfasts, Lunches & dinners for the duration of the program
-Water, coffee & tea

-Transfer to and from Richards Bay airport
-Transfers to and from all included activities
-A dedicated volunteering coordinator
-A qualified field guide for all wildlife activities

What to bring

You will be provided with a ‘what to pack checklist’ once you book your equine volunteering package.

The most important stuff:
-Riding trousers or jeans.
-Closed shoes, jodhpurs or riding boots.
-Walking shoes.
-Sunscreen, lot’s of it!
-A Flashlight could come in handy

Starting dates & Extensions

Our equine programs start every two weeks on Monday’s, 2 week ad-on extensions can be booked if required.

What's required

Anyone over 17 years old, with an adventurous mindset. A little horse riding experience will help!
