Lead a team of volunteers overseas!

ICS is a volunteering overseas programme that delivers more impact, creates more change and has none of the costs associated with similar opportunities.

It’s for the explorers who want to immerse themselves in new cultures and become a full-time member of the community.

It’s for the changemakers who can contribute to long-term, sustainable projects in partnership with national volunteers and members of the community.

It’s for the restless - those who are constantly pushing themselves to learn more, do more and change more.

And it’s at no cost to you. That’s right, you won’t spend a penny. We’ll cover the cost of your flights, accommodation, food, visas, passport, travel and training. Plus, you’ll even receive a monthly allowance while on placement to help you buy snacks, calls home, or whatever else you’d like to spend it on.

You could join one of the eight ICS partnership agencies across Africa, Asia and Latin America for a three to six month long placement. All you have to do is fundraise a minimum of £800 before you depart - which goes straight to your agency and helps us fund the programme.

If you choose Restless Development ICS, you'll lead a team of young people delivering vital programmes across Africa and Asia. Living with a host family in Tanzania, Zambia, Zimbabwe, South Africa, Uganda, India or Nepal, you’ll work on projects related to sexual and reproductive health and rights, employability and livelihoods, and civic participation. By overseeing a group of UK and national volunteers, this opportunity will allow you to showcase your leadership skills in an international setting.

If you’re a UK, EU, or EEA citizen aged 23-35 living in the UK, then this is the volunteering opportunity for you.

You don't need a degree to be a great volunteer, so we recruit based on what traits and skills you can bring to the programme. We look for a drive to change the world, not what you've got on your CV.

Apply today and be overseas by January 2018.

ICS is led by VSO and funded by the UK Government.

Price details:

This is a truly immersive volunteering opportunity, working on sustainable projects that involve the local communities in which they’re delivered.
You will live with a host family alongside volunteers from your placement country, usually in a small group, and run programmes within that local area.
Volunteers receive a monthly stipend to cover calls home, snacks or anything else they may need while on placement.
Upon your return from placement, you will receive support to complete an action at home. This could include speaking to your MP about an important issue, running a talk at your school or college, or writing about your experiences.

Departure dates and duration

Placements last for between 3-6 months, with regular departures between January-April 2018

This opportunity will cost you nothing. There is a fundraising stage, where you are expected to raise £800, which goes towards the agency delivering the programme and helps with the projects you’re working on.
