Pucker up salty sea dogs! It's time to kiss Split goodbye and head over the ocean for some idyllic island time. Your cabin with private ensuite bathroom on our exclusive sailing boat is waiting for you.
Lull about the local markets eating fresh fruit and ogling at bunches of lavender. Stroll the white-pebbled beaches and the long promenade, and get to know your new squad over dinner on the boat tonight. All this in the pretty town setting of Makarska nested between the sea and Mt. Biokovo. Unfathomable
Magnificent Makarska will be but a memory by this afternoon as we head to the third spot on our trip, Korcula.
Some sources say that original adventurer Marco Polo was a Korcula kid. It wouldn't surprise us if a gobsmackingly beautiful island like this inspired someone to get out and see what other beauty the world had to offer. We'll be eased into our evening with Venetian architecture, stone streets, & an abundance of local wine & seafood.
This morning we'll wake up in beautiful Korcula but we'll then be heading off to Dubrovnik. In the words of Bernard Shaw, acclaimed socialist & playwright, "those that seek paradise on earth should seek it in Dubrovnik." You heard the man - let's do this!
So here we are, paradise on earth. Rugged cliffs, seas that beg a dip, and buildings filled with stories and history. To take it all in, you can wander along the 2-kilometres of old town walls or hike to the top of Mt Srj. Dinner at a local restaurant followed by some party vibes at the cities incredible array of clubs will complete things just perfectly.
The city of Dubrovnik is so much more than just a UNESCO World Heritage Site and a Game of Thrones location - not that either of those claims to fame are even mildly mediocre. After you've been guided around the city with intricate detail you'll be armed with the knowledge to pick out a waterside rock bar where you can swim and indulge 'til your heart's content.
Don't hate on us for dragging you away from Dubrovnik. We wouldn't do it unless we knew about another paradise waiting just around the corner...
It will be full blown euphoria this morning as we sail past the palms, cypresses, olive trees, citrus plantations and colourful reefs of the Elaphite Islands. As the sun sets we'll dock at the unspoiled village of Trstenik where we can look back on the Korcula archipelago with awe. All enjoyed over an optional Captain's dinner and a night of ship shenanigans.
Feel free to let the hum of the boat & the sway of the sea keep you in bed all morning where you can catch up on some zzz's. Meanwhile, the captain will be heading us in the direction of the hip and happenin' Hvar.
Starting on a high note, our next port of call is the world renowned island of Hvar. Pine-covered slopes, vineyards & moored yachts make for a stunning coastline, while off the boat we'll discover a charming town square, a 16th century theatre & a banquet of nightlife to tap into.
So off we go...Morning swims and a long lunch on the deck of our boat will seal our affection for Hvar and leave us craving more of the Adriatic Sea. So off we go...
Split's our last night and you've got this city sussed. See the 220 buildings and pretty cathedral of Diocletian’s Palace and tick off any boxes you missed the first time we were here. Then join the crew for a final dinner and get cozy with some of Split's famous waterfront bars.
There you have it, the astonishing beauty of Croatia and its cluster of islands. You probably always imagined you'd be blown away by it, but the new squad of life-long pals will be the real surprise. Round Two: Turkey & Greek Island Odyssey?
