Animals in their natural jungle habitat

Borneo Wildlife Conservation
From £1145
Duration 12 Days
From £1145
Duration 12 Days
Help on an inspiring mission to regenerate the rainforests in Borneo, and see pygmy elephants, orangutans and a huge range of other animals in their natural jungle habitat.

Help to protect wildlife and habitats alongside the beautiful and meandering river Kinabatangan in Malaysian Borneo. Spend your days monitoring the local wildlife from the vantage of a boat, looking out for orangutans, pygmy elephants and much more! You will also be working within their jungle habitat to help regenerate its growth, and help more wildlife to come back to the area to flourish.

The programme

This is an incredibly rewarding project as you will be able to see all of your hard work being paid off. With every tree that you plant and every orangutan that you see, you know that you are helping more and more to flourish in the future. This is a unique and exciting way to experience rainforest life as well as living within the local community. You will be eating with local families who provide delicious dinners and lunches for you and your fellow volunteers. In addition to this you will be taken on a jungle trek and learn about the way of life of this tribal village.

You will be living in a lovely guest house on the banks of the river. Here you will share a twin room and a bathroom with one other volunteer. Breakfast is provided at the guest house and other meals are cooked within the local community – delicious!
