Volunteer in Israel in a nature reserve with desert wildlife! The goal of this reserve is to conserve the endangered desert wildlife animals, which range from reptiles to big carnivores. The reserve contains 3 acres of safari for the herbivores to roam around in a natural environment.
This volunteer project begins with an orientation in Jerusalem that includes a tour of the Old City, a visit to a famous outdoor market and more. Transfers to the project site will be the next morning. Please note that this project takes place in the very south of Israel and the nearest bus stop is 45 minutes away from the accommodations.
As a volunteer on this project, you will have the opportunity to care for the various desert wildlife at the nature reserve.
Some of your volunteer tasks may include:
- Preparing food for the various animals
- Feeding herbivores
- Feeding carnivores at night (if you request to do so)
- Assisting park rangers
- Creating enrichment toys for the animals
- Constructing enclosures
