Although Brazil isn’t economically weak, there are certain sections of underprivileged people who are in dire need of help from the volunteers and you can choose to make a difference in their lives. Volunteering Solutions, in association with local Brazilian organizations, provides 6 different projects in the city of Rio De Janeiro. Each of these projects have been designed in a way that both the giver and the receiver gets benefitted.
Childcare Program – If you love to be with kids and have always imagined yourself surrounded by a naughty bunch, then this is it – you’re gonna love it here! The Childcare Project in Brazil will be a fun-filled affair, as you’ll get to spend all your time with the little ones while playing, nurturing, helping with meals and naps, tutoring, and providing general classroom assistance to them.
Teaching Art & Painting Murals Program – For all the art lovers who wish to take a break and volunteer in Brazil, this would be a meaningful and unique step, as it’ll give you the chance of doing what you love as well as empower the students and youth in gaining some skills. As a part of this program, you’ll be sharing the knowledge of art with the local youth of the region and apart from taking art classes, you can also get engaged in diverse community restoration projects, helping paint murals and hoses in the favela.
Manual Labour Program – If you wish to get your hands dirty and do some hard work during your gap year in Brazil, for ensuring a better life for the underprivileged people living in the favela, then you must join the Manual Labour Volunteering Program in Brazil. You’ll be working alongside the favela residents, helping them to have a better living by constructing homes, painting them, and set up a better colony. Your manual labor assistance will allow local residents to pursue projects that they’ve been waiting to accomplish for years.
Urban Gardening Program – Being a volunteer for this program, you’ll learn more about tropical urban gardening and help the local favela community in understanding the necessity of this. You’ll also have to work in local schools and help them set up small gardens where the students can work.
