Volunteer in Indonesia at a center that has rescued 17 animals and released 20 others in 2017! There are orangutans, crocodiles, gibbons and other animals that have been rescued from various unfortunate conditions currently living at this sanctuary. This center works to rescue these animals, and rehabilitate them when possible so that they may return to their natural habitat.

This project takes place on the Indonesian island of Java. Although an island, the landscape of Java consists of lush green rainforest that is home to indigenous orangutans.

As a volunteer on this project, you will be shadowing the staff at the center and assisting them with daily activities.

Some of your volunteer tasks may include:

  • Preparing food for the various animals
  • Cleaning enclosures
  • Feeding the animals
  • Building new structures
