Volunteering in China

Volunteer Opportunities in China

Volunteering in China is a popular option for many young gappers embarking on their gap year. The economic boom China has experienced in the last 20 years has created vast disparities in Chinese society, leaving approximately 130 million people in China living below the poverty line. This has created a need for volunteers to teach English and other international languages to a classroom of knowledge-thirsty students.

It’s not just the people who benefit from those who wish to volunteer in China, pandas need your help too. Due to the sheer volume of volunteers who travel to this great country to help with panda conservation projects, threats such as poaching and illegal logging have been significantly reduced over the years. There’s still a long way to go however before these great animals are no longer endangered and they rely on those who volunteer in China to do this.

So no matter if its people or animals or both you wish to help, volunteering in China is a great activity to get involved in on your gap year. If you want to secure your placement just speak to one of our helpful partners.
