- Work behind the scenes at an orangutan rehabilitation centre
- Track down the endangered proboscis monkey in the beautiful Bako national park
- Experience tribal life and go in search of wild orangutans
Embark on a rainforest adventure by taking part on this exciting tour, located in Borneo’s verdant jungles. Witness wild orangutans, proboscis monkeys and more as you take part in treks throughout national parks, and visit the award-winning Matang Wildlife Centre to aid in the enrichment of its animals.
During your time on the tour, you will visit the Semenggoh Wildlife Centre, one of Borno’s long-standing establishments which has offered care to injured or orphaned animals since 1975. One of the main draws of this tour, however, is the opportunity to spend time with Borneo’s indigenous communities, getting to know their ways of life and learning about their culture! In addition to hearing stories of days gone by (including tales of the Dayak head-hunters…), you’ll be living alongside this warm and welcoming community as you share a traditional wooden longhouse alongside them. Who knows – you might even be invited to take part in fun cultural activities with them!
If you’re looking for a tour which will show you the very best of Borneo, immersing you in the rainforest way of life, then look no further than right here.
Please note: we operate a strict ‘no contact’ policy on our orangutan projects and tours; this is to ensure the safety of both the orangutans and the volunteers/participants. You can read more about this on our website.
