A 2-week all-encompassing volunteering project in India, get to work for the street kids shelter homes in Delhi and make a difference in their lives. Additionally, explore the historical and cultural heritage of India with pre-included weekend traveling and sightseeing.
India, with its many contrasts, colors, and cultural vibrancy, is an ideal destination to explore for both the first time and the experienced volunteer traveler. Volunteers in this 2-week project will begin their week in Delhi with a brief orientation session followed by volunteer work for the first five days. During the first weekend, the memorable trip to the magnificent wonder of the world ‘Taj Mahal’ begins. The following week, volunteers get on with their usual volunteer work at the shelter. The second weekend encompasses witnessing India Gate, Lotus Temple ( A Bahai Temple ), Humayun’s Tomb, and Qutab Minar – the world-renowned sights of Delhi.
Tentative responsibilities at the project include:
- Assisting shelter attendants and administrators in the day to day upkeep of the center
- Creating engaging lesson plans and assist in teaching the kids
- Renovating and painting the shelter home
- Helping shelter caretakers with spoken Engish
