Rishikesh is a go-to travel destination for international travellers. It is a serene little town in the Himalayas known for its amazing cafes, yoga centres, whitewater rafting and trekking.

Here are some things you can do during your stay in Rishikesh:
1) Whitewater rafting:
For the adventure junkies out there. Rishikesh is known the world over for its’ whitewater rafting. With a total of 3 courses to choose from Tier 1, 2 and 3 ranked according to difficulty, it is easily one of the most exhilarating things you can here.
For those who want more, they can also go for kayaking and bungee jumping.
2) Chill on the banks of river Ganga:
Ganga is considered to be the holiest river in India. Rishikesh is situated along the banks of this river. Why is this good for you? It provides you with lots of mini beaches to relax in. You’ll end up spending entire days on these banks.
3) Camping and trekking:
Rishikesh is the best place to be for a nature lover. With many camps and trekking trails to opt from, you can stay at a different campsite every night of your stay in India and still not cover all of them.
4) Ganga Aarti at Triveni Ghat:
Every evening the area lights up with the aarti and it is truly a majestic sight to witness. After sunset, several diyas (lamps) are set afloat in leaf boats in the holy river. One can truly feel the spirituality when witnessing the Ganga Aarti at Rishikesh.
5) Visit the Beatles Ashram:

The Beatles have a fair history with Rishikesh than what most people might think. Rishikesh had a certain kind of appeal that made the Beatles undertake several trips to this beautiful city. Many of their songs had been formulated and created here.

The Ashram, although now abandoned, has a lot of memoirs and paintings that shed light on the Beatles’ time in India and their interaction with the Maharishi Mahesh Yogi. For any Beatles fan, this place is a must visit.

6) Get an Ayurvedic massage:
Ayurveda is an ancient medicine created by Indian thousands of years ago. Believe it or not, it works!
There are some well-known massage centres in the heart of the city that will leave you feeling peaceful. An Ayurvedic massage also uses herbal and scented oils that will relieve all the tension and stress out of your mind and body.
7) Try your hand at Yoga:
Rishikesh is known as the Yoga capital of the world. Visiting this city without attending at least one Yoga session would be considered a sin.
Various Yoga centres in the city offer walk-in Yoga sessions for anyone and everyone. Don’t miss your chance when you are in Rishikesh.
8) Cafe hopping:
Besides being a city with a rich cultural history, Rishikesh is also home to some of the best cafes. These cafes serve some really delicious food, far exceeding your expectations. One of these cafes, Cafe Delmar, which is also known as Beatles Cafe, apparently hosted the Fab Four. While Delmar is usually overcrowded, you can visit Cafe Karma and Cafe De Goa for some lip-smacking grub.
