Discover the charms of Nepal
Volunteer in Pokhara, the lakeside city and the start point of the world’s most famous treks. Nepal has always captured the Western imagination, with its majestic mountains, ancient temples and smiling people. With this project you can make it your home, living and working alongside local people and getting to appreciate their gentle way of life.
Your role as a volunteer
You will be working in Pame a village on the outskirts of Pokhara, in a local school. The children you will work with will be aged 8-12. Your key role will be to work with small groups and 1-1 to help the children learn new skills and to improve their English. Children in schools typically speak basic English and are keen to learn more. You can also get involved with extra-curricular activities – it’s a great way to get to know the children better and to have a few laughs.
Live as a local
You will be living with up to 12 other volunteers but one of the special things about this project is that you’ll get full immersion into the Nepali culture, living with a host family. By the end of your trip, you will have made friends for life and will genuinely be able to say that you know a thing or two about real life in Nepal. You won’t just be passing through as a back packer.
Plan exciting trips
Nepal offers some of the most outstanding scenery on the planet and we don’t want you to miss it! You will have weekends and evenings to explore Pokhara and the surrounding areas.
